Golden Globes Buzz: “One Battle After Another” Takes the Lead as Nominations Drop

The list of films vying for top honors at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards has arrived — and it’s a wide-open race. One Battle After Another, a politically charged epic by Paul Thomas Anderson, leads the pack with a remarkable nine nominations, spanning Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy), directing, screenplay, and acting nods for both Leonardo DiCaprio and Chase Infiniti.

Not far behind is Sentimental Value, which picked up eight nominations, while Sinners, Hamnet, Frankenstein, and several others landed multiple bids across key categories. The mix reflects a diverse slate — from gripping dramas and genre-defying thrillers to audacious comedies and foreign-language contenders.

The breadth of nominations, from established auteurs to breakout voices, suggests this year’s Globes may shake up expectations. As the countdown ticks closer to January 11 — when winners will be revealed — “One Battle After Another” may be the frontrunner, but with such fierce competition, anything is still possible.
