Scottie Scheffler Dominates Field In Open Win

At Royal Portrush on July 20, Scottie Scheffler secured a dominant win at the 2025 Open Championship, finishing 17 under par—four strokes ahead of his nearest competitor. Scheffler shot a final-round 68, overcoming a double bogey on the 8th hole with steady play and key birdies on the 1st, 9th, and 12th holes.

His closest rival, Harris English, ended the tournament at 13 under, with Chris Gotterup in solo third at 12 under.

Scheffler started the final day with a comfortable four-shot lead, extended it early, momentarily lost ground after the double bogey, but quickly regained control with a birdie at the 9th.

Scheffler became the first golfer in the modern era to win each of his first four majors by at least three strokes—joining an elite club that hasn’t seen such dominance since before World War I.

This victory marks his fourth major of his career, following two Masters titles (2022, 2024) and the PGA Championship earlier this year

His achievement also positions him just one major away from completing a career Grand Slam; the U.S. Open in 2026 presents the next —and final—opportunity.

Fellow pros and the media have showered praise on Scheffler’s unwavering performance, with many likening his run of consistency and poise to historic greats such as Tiger Woods

On the 18th green, Scheffler was joined by wife Meredith and their young son, Bennett, in a heartfelt celebration—underscoring the personal importance of this win.

Scottie Scheffler’s win at the 2025 Open Championship at Royal Portrush was marked by dominance and composure. A final-round 68, a four-shot margin of victory, and historical consistency across majors all served to elevate his status as one of golf’s premier talents. With one major still missing for a career Grand Slam, the U.S. Open looms large—but for now, his four-major haul cements his place among the game’s elite.
