Star Wars: The Last Jedi opened to a stellar $45 million in early Thursday viewings at 4,232 screens around the country. Friday’s totals were even larger, scooping up an additional $104 million in ticket sales, which makes it only the second film in history to top $100 million in one day. (Star Wars: The Force Awakens was the first.) Given that massive haul, projections of a $200 million opening have been revised upward to at least $216 million. The film is set to become the fourth in history to open in excess of $200 million.
Watch The Last Jedi star Daisy Ridley talk about the film and her role in it.
