Citing severe pain and on the advice of doctors, Lady Gaga has canceled her remaining European tour dates. The singer suffers from a condition known as fibromyalgia. Aside from causing musculoskeletal pain, fibromyalgia can result in fatigue, and according to the Mayo Clinic, problems with mood, sleep and memory.
The 31-year-old singer/actress, born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, had tour dates remaining in Paris and London, in addition to other cities in Switzerland, Germany, Sweden and Denmark.
In a Tweet to fans, Gaga wrote, “I’m so devastated I don’t know how to describe it. All I know is that if I don’t do this, I am not standing by the words or meaning of my music. My medical team is supporting the decision for me to recover at home.”
Assuming her health holds, Lady Gaga will begin a residency at MGM Park Theater toward the end of 2018 spanning some 74 dates.
Live Nation announced that fans will be entitled to full refunds.
