Partridge Family Star David Cassidy dies at 67

TV star and singer David Cassidy has died at a Ft. Lauderdale hospital. He was 67. Cassidy suffered from multiple organ failure. Earlier in the year, the performer announced he was retiring from singing due to the oncroach of dementia.

Cassidy gained immediate wide fam as the character Keith Partridge on the TV show, The Partridge Family in which he starred alongside Susan Dey and his stepmother, Shirley Jones. The exposure on the show catapulted Cassidy to the status of teen heartthrob, and in addition to his acting career, he /rapidly became a singer much in popular demand. His most memorable recordings were I Think I Love You and One of Those Nights.

Cassidy was married three times and was divorced at the time of his death.
