Grammy Awards coming up roses for #TimesUP

Music industry insiders — publicists, managers and artists — have sent out an open letter in support of the #TimesUp awareness campaign supporting women in the workplace, protection against sexual harassment and related issues brought to the fore over the last month.

Voices in Entertainment is the group behind the letter calling for Grammy attendees to make visible their participation in the #TimesUP campaign by wearing a white rose to the awards program this weekend “because historically [the white rose] stands for hope, peace, sympathy, and resistance.”

The letter reads in part, “Please join us in support of equal representation in the workplace, for leadership that reflects the diversity of our society, workplaces free of sexual harassment and a heightened awareness of accountability that our sisters started on January 1st and continued through the Golden Globes and onward….”
